Pretty excited to share the best budget full coverage foundation by Revolution Beauty. It is Conceal & Define liquid foundation and so far, it is the best full coverage foundation I have found since discovering Estée Lauder Double Wear. I have an uneven skin tone with some red marks and hyperpigmentation so I always choose a full coverage foundation.
I also have a few broken red thread veins, possibly from splashing hot water on my face before discovering that is a no-no and probably because the are hereditary. I could go and have them lazered off up for the time being I choose to just cover them up. Normally people use a concealer to cover these problem areas and also to disguise dark circles but I just don’t have time in the mornings! I am super busy getting my two small children ready to go so I need an all-rounder foundation that I can slap on in a hurry!
Luckily, I have found just the product in this foundation. I think it is by far the best budget full coverage foundation on the market at the moment. It covers a multitude and gives a flawless finish. I don’t even have to use a powder on top to set it. Hurray!!
It is the only full coverage foundation I have found after deciding to forgo the Double Wear. Unfortunately the Double Wear was costing too much at around 40 euro a bottle. The bottle was annoying to use also, being a rectangular glass bottle with a screw on lid. Towards the end I would have to shake the bottle rigorously and wait for the product to come out. This was frustrating and time consuming, as well as being wasteful, since you could never get to the last bit.
The Revolution Conceal & Define foundation comes in a taller cylinder shaped bottle but has a revolutionary applicator. I had never seen one like it before but it is so clever! It has a large sponge applicator like a beauty blender on the end. This makes it incredibly simple to apply. You can get right into the corner of the eyes, around the nose and all the hard to reach areas with ease. Then you can just use your fingertips to blend it out. It leaves a flawless finish every time.
Best part about it? It takes me around 2 mins. I can go from tired, hungover and dreary to fresh and awake in a few minutes. Hey presto! Just like magic. I love that there is no waste of product thanks to the clever application. I do recommend using a good moisturiser as it can be a little drying but my skin is just getting used to the cold weather too so that could be it.
I use a rich moisturiser after washing my face, then apply my makeup around 10 mins later, blotting any excess moisture with a single sheet of single-ply toilet roll (haha it works – cheaper than buying oil blotting paper!). If I don’t have time, I try to moisturise the night before then slap on some primer before applying it. I only suffer from dry skin around the eye socket and upper nose, sometimes on the sides of my nose but only in winter so this step may not apply in summer months or even for other oily skin types. My skin type is combination so I have oily skin with dry patches on the t-zone.
The Revolution Conceal & Define full coverage foundation is vegan and cruelty free. It is an oil-free foundation that is demi-matte so it doesn’t cling to dry patches so ideal for combination skin. It is a nice lightweight creamy consistency that is really comfortable on the skin all day long.
The coverage is outstanding and lasts all day long. The colour depends on your skin obviously but I got mine online. I read some of the reviews, as I always do to get an idea. Most people said to go a shade darker, so I chose the colour that matched the colour of my current foundation which is slightly darker than my skin tone. I literally put the glass bottle up to the screen on their website and matched the nearest colour. I took a chance and it worked!
So basically, it is the same colour as the foundation I matched it to. I have a medium skin tone with a warm undertone. The colour matching system on their site is very accurate with many colours to suit all skin tones so it is perfect for matching your exact colouring. You click on the colour you think is the nearest to your current foundation, then on the close-up pick you can get a good idea of the match up close.
The Revolution Conceal & Define full coverage foundation is in my opinion the best budget full coverage foundation on the market. At only 10 euro a bottle for 23 ml, a little goes a long way and I am definitely sticking with it. I recently discovered Revolution Beauty online and decided to try one of their eye shadow palettes too after hearing some great reviews. I bagged a bargain during the sale so stay tuned for that review. I haven’t tried it out yet but I can’t wait, it looks gorgeous. So many pretty colours to play with.
