Mushroom, Bacon, Onion and Garlic Pasta

This easy to make pasta is yummy and made in no time! A classic favourite of mine.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 or 6 large button white mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion
  • 200 grams penne or similar pasta
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 dash cracked black pepper
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and chopped well
  • 100 mls cream

Instructions

  1. Chop the mushrooms into bite size pieces and finely chop the onion.

Put the pasta on to boil. Follow instructions on the pack.

  2. Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large frying pan on a low-medium heat.

  3. Add in the mushrooms and onion

  4. When the onions are transparent and mushrooms are cooked, add in the bacon.

  5. Add in the garlic once the bacon is browning slightly.

  6. Once the garlic is done, add in the cream and simmer. Stir well.

  7. Add a dash of cracked pepper and remove from the heat.

  8. Pasta should be done around the same time so remove from the heat and strain.

  9. Add the pasta to a large dish or directly onto plates. Use a serving spoon to top with your creamy sauce.

  10. Voila! Enjoy :)

Recipe Notes

You can make this vegetarian by removing the bacon. You could replace the bacon with courgette/zucchini.
