Kit Kat fudge is a perfect combination of creamy and rich chocolate fudge with the familiar fave Kit Kat crunch. If you love Kit Kat you will be obsessed with these sweet treats.
I made this fudge during lockdown and I want to give credit to the original creator since I spotted this video online. As I went to make it, having sent my other half to grab some Kit Kats pronto, I realised I didn’t have any golden syrup. I never seem to have that on hand so I chose honey instead. I also decided to use dark chocolate as I am not a huge fan of milk choc so a couple of little changes and it still tasted amazing.
Here is the link to the video I originally found – in order to credit them and also in case you prefer to watch it – original. I do love to read recipes so see below for my slightly different tweaked version!
The tray was a good size (12″ x 12″) and actually they are very filling so you will probably only need small squares. Bite size pieces are ideal but one is never enough! Be warned, these are addictive.
I probably ate 3 or 4 each time I presented the tray. There were 3 adults and 2 kids here and we managed to get 3 days of desserts from the one tray. So that was good going!
Anyhoo, these were easy peasy and fun to make with my 5 year old. She was able to get involved and lick the bowl when we were finished. I did have to give her a Kit Kat while we waited for them to set afterwards. Bear in mind these take around 3-4 hours to set in the fridge.
They are still a little bit gooey even the next day so never rock solid but that makes them so much better. They may be a little messy but just have some paper towels handy for kids paws in case.
These are the perfect little treat for having with a tea or coffee and I imagine they would be a welcome gift for anyone. Considering people are baking and cooking like crazy during lockdown then this might be fun to do with the family.
It is definitely a hit in our house. So if you do make this, please let us know your verdict in the comments below and also if you make any interesting changes or versions. We love experimenting with flavours so open to suggestions.
Go on, indulge yourselves!
Kit Kat Fudge
Scrumptious Kit Kat fudge is simple to make, fun to do with kids and tastes delish!
Ingredients
- 400 g condensed milk
- 50 g butter
- 2 tbsp honey/golden syrup
- 300 g dark chocolate chopped
- 340 g Kit Kat
Instructions
-
Line a 12" X 12" pan with baking paper. Heat a medium sized saucepan on the hob with the condensed milk, butter and honey/syrup on low. Keep stirring all the time so the mixture doesn't stick to the pan.
-
Once combined, add in your chocolate and stir well. Remove from the heat and finish combining the chocolate.
-
Pour half the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Now place the kit Kat fingers, slightly spaced along the top of the mixture. Pour on the remaining chocolate mixture to cover.
-
With the remaining Kit Kat, chop into a crumbly mixture to sprinkle all across the top of the fudge mixture.
-
Place in the fridge for 3-4 hours to set. Once set, use a large chopping knife to cut into bite size squares or larger, depending on your preference.
-
Serve cold and put the rest back in the fridge - if there is any left! This will keep for up to a week. If you do give as a gift then it probably best to put in an airtight container and inform them to keep in the fridge.
-
Enjoy!
Hope you love it as much as we do. Not exactly diet food but one or two shouldn’t be too bad eh?
