I was so impressed with this months Curls Allowed subscription box, I had to do a review. I have an unruly mop of fluffy curls that take a fair bit of taming every day. So without further ado, here is the Curls Allowed October Box review!
The Curls Allowed box is always a welcome surprise, as they get shipped around the middle of the month and usually there are no spoilers. If you join up to their Facebook group, they often do one product reveal as a sneak peek but that’s it! I do love a surprise so it is a real pick-me-up to have this pretty box arrive, like a little gift.
Here is what the Curls Allowed October box contained –
Full size 250ml Faith in Nature Rose & Neroli Conditioner by Brave Botanicals.
This is a gorgeous smelling conditioner and can be used as a co-wash, after shampoo or even as a lighter leave-in conditioner. The packaging is cute and it is a very generous size so I was delighted to see that in there. It saved me having to buy a new conditioner and that was great because I have no idea what conditioners are any good! One of the things I love about this box is that the products are carefully chosen, often based on popularity so they always have a great selection. It is a nice texture and helps to soften the hair, which makes it easier to separate my curls in the shower. So far so good!
Full size Chirp Body Softnest Hair Mask 100ml.
The thing that really appealed to me about this mask was the packaging, at first. It is so pretty, I love it!! It come in this easy to use pouch and it is 100% natural. I LOVE anything that is natural and this certainly didn’t disappoint. So happy to try this out and I was amazed to see it normally costs £17 for a full size pouch so this exceeds the price of the box which is only £14! It has tonnes of rave reviews online too. It has a lot of nutrients and nourishing oils like castor and olive oil, avocado and argan.
The scent is so nice, bergamot and Ylang Ylang. It even has tea tree oil for your scalp so a brilliant choice for healthy hair. It is plant based, vegan and cruelty free. I really enjoyed using it. You apply liberally to dry hair and leave on for 25 mins. Then you can shampoo it out. I used a natural shampoo but apparently if you are doing the no-poo method or indeed the Curly Girl method, you can just use an ACV wash. Check out my natural homemade hair recipes here.
Aloe Pura Aloe Vera Gel 100ml.
This organic aloe vera gel is 99.9% natural. I was so happy to discover this as a hair gel. It works amazingly to tame my frizzy curls, whether my hair is damp or dry! It is lightweight, doesn’t make the hair crunchy like some gels and works a treat. I feel like I have found a holy grail product here. Thanks again to the Curls Allowed crew! The great thing is, it is multifunctional as aloe vera has so many uses so a perfect addiction to my hair regime. It is reasonably priced too. Score!
Cantu Moisturising Curl Activator Cream 89ml.
I have been seeing this range cropping up all over the internet on the many curly hair websites I find. I love that I get to try before buying and this is another generous size sample. Made with shea butter, you apply it to wet hair after washing before applying your final product such as gel in my case. You can also use it as a refresher. I have only tried it the once so I can’t say how good it is yet but it claims to help enhance your natural curl pattern and help tame frizz. Fingers crossed!
So the Curls Allowed October Box Review is fantastic! I am over the moon with my selection this month and I feel like the box just gets better and better. The value for money is outstanding and the product selection is really well curated. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to discover new products for their curls. I have found some really amazing ones that I will stick with and I genuinely look forward to my surprise box when it arrives. It never disappoints!
