Global Glamour August Box – Look Fantastic

Hi Ladies,

This months Global Glamour August Box is a real treat and I can’t wait to tell you about the fab contents. If you happened to read my last post on the Look Fantastic July subscription box, Pretty in Paradise, you will know that I have been completely over the moon with this subscription box. It is my new vice and a guilt-free one at that! It’s a beautifully presented box full of handy and well chosen beauty products, delivered to your door monthly. I am so delighted to have found the ideal one as I have been searching for the best one for a long time now and finally took the plunge. Well I am not disappointed and this months box is just as fabulous as the last one! It is a real pick-me-up and such a little spark of glee when you know its coming. A surprise box of treats to pamper and preen yourself with, all delivered in a beautiful box with a magazine, so that you can sit back and relax with a glass of wine or cup of tea and play with the new mini cosmetics. I usually delve right in though, since it’s so exciting to try out the new products. It really gives me a  boost, and considering I have absolutely no time to go shopping, be it online or in the streets, this is ideal! I have two babies at home so shopping is out of the question as I have no babysitter and any free time I have, I like to relax or work on my blog. I love that the products are not just promotional, but cleverly chosen by a professional who has literally hundreds of products at their disposal. Reason being, the box is curated by a  beauty editor dedicated to choosing the ideal products for women like us! Available from just £13 a month for a year’s subscription, it makes the perfect gift to give to someone you love, or treat yourself to to keep on top of the latest beauty launches on lookfantastic. Enough gushing about it, I will get to the contents immediately as I’m genuinely happy with the products from Global Glamour so here goes –

1 Mane ‘n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner mini travel sized bottles. Ok so I basically love this range and have been using them for over a year now. My hair is quite curly and really hard to grow so I did a lot of research before making my choice to go with the brand. I scoured Pinterest and online forums to find out the best product for hair growth and these kept cropping up. Every time! So I went ahead and bought both the original shampoo and conditioner and began using them every 3-4 days. Firstly I have to say, I love the scent and it reminds me of the hairdressers so its an expensive shampoo smell! They are a little more pricey than your supermarket usual brand but not in the expensive range, more like mid price range. Definitely worth the little extra as I have noticed my hair growth speeding up and I now have the hair length I was aiming for. My hair is always shiny and healthy and I have no plans to change my hair routine so needless to say, these are a welcome addition to my bathroom cupboard (as they are perfect size for travelling and I am going on holidays soon). Actually, a funny coincidence is, when I came home from Ireland last year, I had a couple of bottles over there that were going to get left behind, after buying the full size – on special for two. I decided to transfer the remaining contents of the conditioner into a vitamins container in order to transport in my hand luggage, as it was a travelling light holiday. To my horror, even though the bottle was intact on the way through security, it had leaked all over my travel bag when I re-opened it on returning home! Ugghhhh, that was annoying and I vowed never to do that again. So funnily enough, I was immediately reminded of that and when I opened the box, and thought how genuinely handy these are for me! If you are keen to try before you buy, this box is worth purchasing, as its only £13 and one large bottle costs around £10 or more. So that is my take on the first items.

2. Next up is the Lord & Berry eyebrow pencil. I have an eyebrow pencil which I love using, as it really makes my eyes more appealing and I use it when I’m going somewhere nice. Im still fairly rubbish at getting both to match properly but I’m getting there with practice! Well practice makes perfect after all so I’m sticking with it. As soon as I tried this pencil I knew I was going to be using it from now on! It is nice and soft so I can quickly swipe it along and it works effortlessly. I can do a nice whispy look at the edges due to its precision and best of all, I can get the exact colour match. How, you ask? Because this pencil has two different colours that you can blend or match to your black, dark or brown hair colour. It has a dual ended pencil tip so that it is a guaranteed match for dark hair. Dark eyebrows really look well on me so this is a great product for me and its not something I would have the time to research so happy to have a good one chosen for me!

3. Next in line is the Gatineau Paris Gentle Silk Cleanser. It is for sensitive skin and comes in a travel size 50ml bottle. Now I normally use a rinse off foaming cleanser so I decided to use this as a makeup remover. I have heard of this brand and its a cult French pharmacy brand. I live in France so I see this brand everywhere! It is obviously hugely popular so I was happy to try before buying. If you like cream cleansers then you will probably enjoy this one. It smells lovely and is cooling on the skin. It does the job of removing makeup fine so ill be keeping it in my travel stash for holidays as I won’t be able to carry my micellar lotion for eye makeup removal as its too big. Handy to have with me for that as I will be hopefully enjoying a few nights out, therefore be needing an eye makeup remover!! With any luck…

4. My fave product in the box was this cute and pretty packaged Lottie London lip balm. It is cruelty free, vegan and apparently powerfully pigmented. Powerfully pigmented meaning, they give a lovely sheen, almost glistening in the light. I am a huge lip balm fanatic and I have tried sooo many brands over the years, believe me! I always have a lip balm handy and it has to be good quality. I highly recommend this one. The application is different than any I have seen before and definitely the best. You just swipe it across both lips in one go and you’re done. Another fab feature of this cleverly designed pointed sphere shape tip applicator is that you can tame your brows with it! I love sweeping it across my eyebrows after applying it to my lips. Due to the pointy applicator I can be super precise which is perfect. The one I received is Toffy Apple, but to be honest it actually smells like watermelon to me! I prefer the summery scent of watermelon anyway so happy with that. Anyway, it might be just me but see for yourself! This is a talking piece among friends, as everyone notices the pretty packaging and when you apply it quickly, they all ask what is this interesting product and want to check it out for themselves. Trés cool. J’adore!!!!

5. BB Super + Beblesh Balm PA++. Now I am a full coverage foundation makeup lover so I was really impressed to see a factor 30 BB cream foundation with full coverage in here. This is like the Holy Grail I have been searching for. It ticks all the boxes for me. Factor 30 in a foundation is hard to find. This is also anti-wrinkle and whitening and originates from Korea. Korean technology in skin care is top notch so I couldn’t wait to try this out! I tried it straight away and it went on really easily, considering I just used my fingers to apply. You only need a small amount and the coverage is flawless. It is a little lighter than my normal colour but that didn’t bother me as I use bronzer anyway. First day I wore it, the sun was splitting the trees here in the South of France as its summer so great timing for a high factor BB cream. I didn’t check my face at all for around 6 hours, however that is a long time to be out in the sun and with no touch ups. Bear in mind that I didn’t put any powder on top, it was starting to wear off slightly. Now heres the thing – I didn’t realise that I needed to use a powder to set the makeup. First try, I just said I will see how I go without, as it dried quite well and already had the desired coverage. Anyhow, I wasn’t deterred and decide to try the next day with a finishing powder. I use Rimmel Stay Matte powder as I have oily skin but I’m sure most powders will work as it is not the coverage you need it for, just the setting. I found that my bronzer, blush and highlighter went on better too so I recommend setting it. I am delighted with the results. It stayed on the whole day and only came off on the sides of my nose where I’m always touching my face. The following day, I remedied that by using my fave stay-in-place concealer Esteé Lauder double wear, in that area and hey presto, I have found the perfect foundation. Every box ticked. Highly recommend it! I have finally found a BB cream with full coverage and high factor protection. Yusss.

6. Last but not least, the Korres Moisturising Body Milk. I actually knew this was coming as I had seen the sneak peek on the website. They do a sneak peek each month of a certain product coming up in the next months box so of course I checked as I am excited to see. It comes from Greece and has lovely packaging for a start. It has mainly natural ingredients, as stated on the front, like 93-94percent so that’s good. It contains Almond oil and Aloe so it is great for summer and can be used as an aftersun alternative. Let me just say the thing I love about this the most is the scent! Wow, it smells like holidays in Greece. Like the sea and foreign plants and herbs. So refreshing and summery. Global Glamour doesn’t disappoint!

Im slathering this on every morning and it makes me feel fantastic. I keep smelling my arm when I first put it on! Ahh I’m gonna grab my body lotion as we speak since I love it so much… But wait, theres more!!!! Read on 😉

Ok, so I have a little confession! I actually got two of these boxes! Lucky me, that means I managed to get both of the different Gatineau products, 2 different scents of the Korres Body Lotion and two scents of the Lottie lip balm, the other one being Cherry Pie which smells of cherries. I’m so glad I got two of everything, as these are all products I’m happy with and will really use! Oooh I’m a gambler but I have full faith in this box so I’m taking my chances haha. Totally worth the £13 a month, I’m never looking back. Heres the pic of the Gatineau Alcohol Free toner which I’m using at the moment. It helps to close the pores so great to use before makeup. Its for sensitive skin too so basically suitable for all skin types. Perfect. Global Glamour is promoting products from all over the world so the choice is broad!

This package seems so essential and full of items even a novice (like myself) could get use out of. The mane n’ tail line brings memories from my childhood days. Thanks for sharing.
