What to do?
The Taj Mahal
You start your day with paying a visit to the symbol of love, The Taj Mahal. It was a gift from the Mughal Empire given by the king to his wife Mumtaaz on her death. She died giving birth to their 14th child. Their love story was its inspiration.
After purchasing a ticket from the counter you have to walk a little to the entry gate. The moment you enter the premises you can feel the essence of love and praise the beauty of Taj.
Not only this, but architecturally also The Taj has built his name in the world because of the marvellous art and carvings made out on the marble.
Another fact about the Taj is its foundation so firmly held on the river bank withholding the massive weight of the structure which was not so easy back in time with minimal technology.

Agra Fort
The Agra fort can be reached by an auto-rickshaw from the Taj and is another example of architecture from back in time. The fort is completely built of red stone and is beautifully carved out. The distant view of the Taj Mahal can be seen from the top of the fort.
Tips
– Avoid holidays and weekends for visit to stay away from crowd
– Use public transport for local travelling as parking can be an issue
– Do try the Petha purchased from the original Panchi Petha shop which has only two outlets and rest are duplicate. Petha is a sweet Agra is famous for.
– Mention the Agra fort clearly to the rickshaw driver else they may take you to the railway station because of the same name which creates confusion.
What a fabulous place to visit!
