HOW TO LOOK CHIC IN A WHOLE THRIFTY OUTFIT!

Black and white thrifty outfit with red bag
I think I went crazy when I found this little dress on one of my op-shopping days!

As soon as I saw it I literally ran to grab it. Although it did look like a shapeless kaftan I knew it would fit perfectly! because I love these sort of garments that are completely versatile, that can be styled to go dancing or just for going out to have a coffee.

It’s made of chiffon and is lined so is the perfect transition piece to shift from summer to autumn if I add leggings.

Looking at this sort of details when you are shopping will save you hundreds of dollars since you will wear the same garments for at least two seasons.

The `V` neck gave me the opportunity to wear my favorite black scarf, just in the case gets chilly since we are in the transition of seasons from summer to autumn.

I recommend you to go for structured bags, they last longer and they are so easy to mix and match, this Red Clutch is a great example. I don`t even remember for how long I have had it! I only remember I bought it in an op-shop during one of our trips to Arizona, probably about 5 years ago! Can you believe that?

This bag, the scarf and my black ankle booties are the accessories that I used to break up the eye line from the striped dress. Don’t be afraid of wearing them! they are safe and they are probably one of the easiest patterns to pair.

Another little, but at the same time really helpful tip, is that I keep my wardrobe classy with black, white, grey and of course bits of color like this red clutch bag. They give me the chance to create smarter outfits with solid colors that reflect my own style.

Try not to embrace any trends that don’t work for you. Stick to the ones that do work and you feel comfortable with and just let go the ones that don’t, because trends come and go! Try to challenge yourself. Get creative because your own style shouldn’t be attached to any season.

For me, shopping is about finding the balance in what makes you feel comfortable and beautiful, but at the same time allows you to enjoy every moment of your day. It is important to be conscious about our buying decisions and the impact that they have on the environment and the people involved in the fashion industry nowadays. That’s why I invite you to visit your local op-shop where you will find out that you don’t have to sacrifice your style at all when op-shopping.
