This months August Look Fantastic box review was exciting as I got to try out some lovely new products and was pretty impressed! The August theme is Feel, Be and Look Fantastic. It is about having confidence in yourself and feeling fantastic in your own skin. The saying on the inside of the lovely blue and gold box is “Kalon – Beauty is more than skin deep”. Kalon is a Welsh word.

I was delighted to see two makeup products in the box as I have been wanting to try some new makeup and getting bored with my usual routine. There was a luxurious body wash in there and a couple of facial products and a body lotion type product so a nice balance in this months August Look Fantastic box!

First up, the Nails INC.redible Glazin Over Lip Gloss. I received a lovely shade of reddish pink which I was a bit unsure of as I tend to go for more muted colours but I was actually quite excited for a change. I tried it on the next day when I did my makeup for going out. I expected it to be over the top but actually it is lovely and didn’t look ridiculous at all. I was very impressed with it and wore it out during the day so not only for nights out which is handy. It give a little extra pizzazz to my makeup look which I’m enjoying. It makes me feel a bit glam since I don’t normally wear loud colours and gloss. I use it on its own and just use one coat, however if you want a bolder look, just double up. It has an easy to use applicator with a sponge tip so no mess involved, it is quite precise. I like the packaging too. It is hydrating and not sticky at all so a big thumbs up for that!

The Molten Brown Delicious Rhubarb and Rose Bath & Shower Gel was the item I was expecting since I had a preview on the sneak peek of the website before it arrived! I was so chuffed to be receiving this as I love Molten Brown and their packaging is adorable. The scents are so beautiful and aromatic too. It is a really generous size, way bigger than a hotel sample size so I was feeling like the kid at Christmas to be getting this little luxury! Ahh the little things life… It is completely divine! Love, love, love the stuff. Cannot wait for my shower tomorrow now haha.

The Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash appealed to me immediately as I am a huge natural skin care fan. It has 99% natural ingredients. I have heard of the brand many times before, particularly with reviews of their serum so I was keen to try this cleanser. I used it this morning for the first time so I can’t say for sure how well it works but it smells amazing. It claims to renew and revitalise skin without stripping the moisture. It purifies and refreshes with blends of grapefruit, frankincense and roman chamomile oils. A nice way to start the day with those lovely oils and the lingering scent of nature.

One of the items that stood out to me was the MIO Boob Tube Multi-action Bust Firmer. I have never even contemplated buying any such product but in this hot and sticky weather I was glad to have some nice lotion to put on! It says that it envelops the skin with a veil of moisture while smoothing and brightening the skin. It is rich in COQ10 and natural active ingredients and even claims to slow down signs of ageing. You apply it in an upwards motion to your neck and it is in fact recommended for all ages from 18 + so not just for the older ladies! It is very pamperish and great for this hot weather so I like it and it smells gorgeous. I feel like I’m on holidays with the scent. Lovely.

The Erno Lazlo Firm & Lift Essence Lotion looked like a soothing, cooling gel and is supposed to give the skin a youthful and fresh look. To be honest I wasn’t enamoured by the ingredients, on inspection. I dislike anything with harsh chemicals and this seems to have a few. Sorry but this is a no-go for me. Luckily it is the smallest sample in the box and the full size is rather over my price range anyway so I’m not bothered at all! I know the brand is well known and popular but this is simply my own opinion so keep that in mind as everyone is different!

Last but not least, the Blink Brow Bar Mini Brow Build Gel in Indian Chocolate. I was slightly sceptical and a little dubious of this kind of eyebrow cream. I have only ever used a pencil so I was keen to give it a go but really thought it would be OTT. Actually this is a great product! It is easy to use, blendable and seems to give real definition without the painstaking effort that is often involved with defining your brows. It is a simple way to fill in and shape your brows to make your face look more polished. I will be using it from now on when I’m going somewhere nice.
