There are lots of great interior design programs to watch on Netflix at the moment so I have noted the best ones. I really enjoyed watching these and if you love interior design you will be keen to check these out for sure !
Amazing Interiors. This is Netflix’s brand new and first EVER original home interiors show. Peer into the unique and eccentric homes of some one of a kind designers. A backyard rollercoaster, a pink palace, indoor aquarium and much more. Check out the trailers and info here.
The Great Interior Design Challenge. A classic old school type binge-worthy interior design challenge where the designers are amateurs and have a small budget to stick to. Makes for addictive viewing. I binge-watched it back to back! Check out the trailers and info here.
The Worlds Most Extraordinary Homes. Season 2 is coming on Sept 14th! This was a great program, the homes are truly spectacular and out of this world. Featuring homes on top of mountains, underground, in the middle of a forest and on the beautiful coastline. Well worth watching and I will be tuning in to see more in September. Cant wait! Watch the trailer and find out more here.
Abstract Art of Design. Another Netflix original featuring an Interior Designer and an architect, among varied different designers in other design fields. Season 1 episode 8 features interior designer Ilse Crawford who engages the senses and evokes wellness through design. Season 1 episode 4 features architect Bjarke Ingels who unites function, fantasy and sustainability in “pragmatic utopian” designs such as a clean power plant topped with a ski slope. See the trailer and learn more here.
Stay Here. New to Netflix, this is another a binge-worthy interior design show worth staying in for. Designer Genevieve Gorder and real estate expert Peter Lorimer show property owners how to turn their short-term rentals into moneymaking showstoppers. They visit homes which have a lot of potential as rentals, including a winery ranch cottage, Seattle house boat, 70’s pad in Pram Springs and a Hudson River carriage house. Addictive viewing! See more here.
Grand Designs. Good old Grand Designs, it is quite fascinating to see how people build their own dream homes from scratch. A great show for inspiration and authentic designs. They always build amazing creations and it follows them all the way from start to finish, with all the pitfalls. Kevin McCloud presents. Check it out here.
Lego House – Home of the Brick. A 130,000 square ft home inspired by Lego. Its not just for kids, adults will love it too! Check it out on Netflix here. Here is a sneak peek trailer –
The Property Brothers. Jonathan and Drew are identical twin brothers who help people create their dream home from a run down wreck or else renovate their current home to a high standard for selling. They are a great duo as one is in real estate and the other is a builder. There are loads of ones to watch and all kinds of homes. Some inspiring renovation ideas. See more here.
Queer Eye For the Straight Guy. Not strictly Interior Design-related but they do fantastic home makeovers as a part of an overall life makeover for some lucky person. It is a brilliant show and I have been watching it for years! They surprise a nominated individual and completely transform their look, home and life in a short space of time. The interior design part is really worth watching and the show itself is completely binge-worthy. Love it. The fab five are known and loved for their fun personalities. The makeovers are genius! See more here.
So those are the best interior design programs to watch on Netflix. Have you seen any of these? If so, which is your favourite? I can’t decide!
Do you know of any other great ones I may have missed out on? If so, let me know in the comments.
