Brassy, dull blonde? Purple shampoo that leaves hair dry and weak?
Ever since I discovered balayage and ventured into the “blonde” territory, I had never been more desperate to take better care of my hair. I love this new color and prefer it over my original brown. However, I didn’t realize being blonde requires so much maintenance. Finding the right purple shampoo was a struggle until I came across Sachajuan silver shampoo and conditioner.
Before Sachajuan, I tried Aveda Blue Malva, and Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights Shampoo. Both are highly rated on YouTube as well as on Amazon. Unfortunately, none of them worked. While the Clairol shampoo helped remove brassiness, it left my hair very dry even when I used the conditioner. As for Aveda Blue Malva, it wasn’t as drying. But it wasn’t purple enough to tone my blonde. After combing through numerous online reviews, I discovered Sachajuan. Featured on multiple publications such as Harpers Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Popsugar and maintaining a near perfect 5 rating across Sephora, Amazon, and Dermstore, Sachajuan is known for its “Ocean Silk Technology to nourish strands and shape a sleeker appearance”. Created by 2 Swedish stylists named Sacha Mitic and Juan Rosenlind, Sachajuan hair care products simultaneously style your hair while using nourishing ingredients to promote its overall health.
I was skeptical at first, especially given the price. Yet, I was even more determined to maintain my expensive balayage color. On the first wash, I immediately noticed a difference. My blonde is brighter and most importantly, my hair feels soft and smooth. Both the shampoo and conditioner have a nice floral scent that is not too overpowering. The shampoo is a thick, deep purple that lather nicely. The conditioner actually nourishes my hair, leaving it shiny.
In addition to this shampoo and conditioner, I learned a trick from my hair stylist on how to wash hair properly. Prior to shampooing, prep it with lime juice. Lime has natural lightening properties when applied directly to hair. Rinse out the lime and proceed with shampoo/conditioner as directed. Once done with conditioner, rinse it out with cold water. This shot of cold water will help seal the moisture and colors.
I’ve been doing this routine for a month, and it works! I would definitely recommend Sachajuan for those that are looking to maintain a cool blonde shade.
