Hey, so as promised, here is the Revolution Affirmation eyeshadow palette review. I bagged a bargain in the January sale and got this for only 5 euro! I was delighted to see this at half price and grabbed it immediately when I spotted it. I had heard some really good things about Revolution beauty eyeshadow palettes so naturally I was keen to try it out.
I went online to purchase the Revolution Conceal & Define foundation, which was recommended to me. I was more than happy with that foundation and wrote a review about there last week. Check it out here. It is the best full coverage budget foundation on the market at the moment in my opinion!
Needless to say, I was excited to try this palette after such a positive result with the foundation. I have tried a few of the most appealing shades this week and I am really liking it so far. The colours are lovely and rich, highly pigmented but not too over-the-top. The shades are perfect for my colouring – darker hair and skin tone.
The warm tones are ideal for the winter season and browns, purples and gold really suit me in general so I figured the Affirmation palette was a good choice for me. There are some nice light, highlighting colours and also some black and darker for eye lining and smoky eye looks.
I do love a bit of sparkle and glitter so those colours appealed to the disco diva in me which are also ideal for those nights out on the razzle dazzle. I love having that extra little sparkle in my eye 😉
First thoughts on the Revolution Affirmation eyeshadow palette was oooh la la, nice packaging. A lovely luxury feel and look to the palette with a nice weight and sturdy expensive looking box. The palette itself surpassed my expectations in terms of looks and practicality. The inner top opening has a large mirror. It has just the right size round shadows with a nice formulation. The shadow can be subtle or built up for a glam look.
This palette can be used for day or night time eyeshadow looks. For the price I think it is fantastic value. I would say the price is about right for the quality. I have bought expensive eyeshadows that are better, yes but then again those cost about 4 times the price and need to be bought individually.
If you are looking for a fun eyeshadow palette for playing around with colours then this is perfect. There is very little fall-out of the eyeshadow so it does stick well. I recommend using an eyeshadow primer if you tend to get oily lids during the day or on a night out. You need a decent makeup remover to get it all off at the end of the night.
I would definitely do my eyeshadow first before putting on the rest of my makeup, but that is a general rule of mine if I am applying dramatic eyeshadow for a night out or anything more than just a neutral daytime colour.
I was impressed with the pigmentation on the metallic colours and I would even go as far as using my fingers to apply those. Check out the swatches on my forearm which were applied with my fingertips, I find it gives the colour more depth.Â
I was happy to try out some interesting new shades which I hadn’t seen before on myself and was pleasantly surprised. This palette retails at 10 euro and and I got it for half price. Considering the quality I was impressed and would definitely be keen to try out some other eyeshadow palettes from the range.
So far, Revolution Beauty has been a nice surprise and a brand I will be excited to try out more of in the future. I think it is a promising up and coming range and I am pretty stoked to find and try more. To be honest I am afraid to go back on the site because it is too tempting to spend!!!!
Well that is a good sign I guess. Have you ever tried Revolution Beauty products? Do tell… I love hearing your feedback.
